The Hole
(short movie)

The short movie "The Hole" was one of the 15 winning aplications, of the 122 proposals, selected to participated in the Language Through Lenses Competion, organized by ELIA (European League of Institutes of the Arts).

Synopsis:

What would lead four people to dig a hole? Would it be a treasure hunt? An archaeological dig? An interest in flowers? The search for a corpse?
What if I tell you that our story takes place in a multicultural country where nobody speaks the same language! As a matter of fact, none of the first assumptions were correct. In this case, linguistic differences are the main cause for an event that brings together a gravedigger, who speaks Portuguese, a police officer, who speaks French, a passer-by, who speaks Spanish, an environmentalist, who speaks German, and an archaeologist, who speaks Italian.
With this three minute movie ‘The Hole’ we want to show with a certain degree of  black humour and nonsense, how linguistic differences may lead to  misunderstandings and communication difficulties.
In the end, what is the whole purpose of the hole?

These vices, will influence the body to try them, leading him to pursuer a path of self-destruction.
